Wildflower Season

Earlier this month, the San Diego Union Tribune printed an article about the blooming wildflowers thanks to the rainstorms we had in the last few months. Thanks to Mike Lee for listing the Canyoneers as a resource for free guided hikes and nature walks.

San Diego's Parks

Here's another reason why we love living in San Diego: according to Chicago Magazine, America's Finest City has the largest acres of parkland per 1,000 resident. That ranks highest of all major parks across the country! Of all the parks in the U.S., Mission Bay Park and Balboa Park tie with Forest Park in St. Louis as the fifth most visited park, each attracting 12 million visitors every year.

Welcome!

Welcome to the new Canyoneer blog. The new season has begun. Now that the weather has cooled down, it's time to get out and enjoy the beauty of San Diego and Imperial Counties. Please pick up a printed schedule, generously provided by REI, from a fellow Canyoneer, at the San Diego Natural History Museum, or online. We are also dropping off the schedules all around the County: libraries, visitor centers, concierge desks...anywhere and everywhere. Pick one up today and see you on the trail!
